4. To be yourself is all that you can do

When you are not yourself, you may even be pleasing the whole world around you, but you are harming the only thing that really matters, the only thing that is capable of bringing you the truest forms of love and happiness: You.

With time, you come to see that this is more valuable to you than any one person, any one victory or accomplishment, any one relationship or friendship.

And with time, once you realize that this is the most important thing in your life, you develop the courage that you need in order to pay the highest price that being yourself may require. The issue here is not your courage per se, since you have always had such courage inside of you; but rather, the issue is that, once you see that any price is worth paying for being your true self, you feel the pleasure and the will to pay for it!
