Had you been mine
I would have set the pace.
Would have drawn the lines of time
and gained the spirit of earnest heart.
Only had you been mine, here.
The time arrives, itself, like nothing else
coming from the high up stars
dangling its dripping flesh on you
riding horses, force never seen.
You feel it, like a fresh breath of pure air
for life has been given to you.
You spread your arms
open for all what time has to serve you
and the world embraces you like no one does:
Time continues. Flowing. Growing. Dying.
All is kept. All is forgotten
your world is left behind
searching for the one you wish.
And yet, the world you are is at the back of you.
Year by year, all you are
is best kept away from your heart.
You feel with your mind
and when the time comes,
your heart will not feel it
for the carriage has come.
The force is picking you up.
Your blood is running away
from the tides of your life.
You feel yourself at the front line.
And yet, had you been mine
I would have still set the pace.
